Who we are

One contractor for the building and the systems inside it.

Most facility projects are half construction, half mechanical. Usually that means two contractors, two schedules, and a lot of finger-pointing at the ceiling line.

US Builders holds both a general building license and an HVAC license, so we can carry the whole job ourselves: the demo, the framing and finishes, the rooftop units, the ductwork, and the controls. You get one point of contact, one schedule, and one company that answers for the result.

We're built for government work, but it isn't all we do. We still take on commercial and residential projects around Sacramento, and that everyday field work keeps our crews sharp for the public jobs.

More about US Builders

Two trades. One contract. General building and HVAC under the same license holder.
Government contracting

Public work is a different job. We treat it that way.

A federal or state project is judged on more than the finished product. It's judged on whether the submittals were complete, the payroll was certified, the site was safe, and the closeout package was on the CO's desk when it was due.

That's the part a lot of contractors treat as overhead. We treat it as part of the work.

  • We read the whole solicitation. Specs, drawings, wage determination, amendments, and the Q&A, before we price a single line.
  • Davis-Bacon and certified payroll. Correct classifications, prevailing wages, and weekly WH-347s with no reminders needed.
  • Submittals that come back approved. Product data, shop drawings, and schedules organized to the spec section.
  • Safety you can audit. A site-specific safety plan, daily tailgates, and activity hazard analyses where the contract calls for them.
  • Closeout without chasing. As-builts, O&M manuals, warranties, and training delivered as a complete package.

From solicitation to final payment

  1. Review

We qualify the opportunity on SAM.gov or the agency portal and read every document in the package.

  2. Walk & ask

We attend the site visit, verify field conditions, and submit RFIs early so the answers reach every bidder.

  3. Price honestly

Real quantities, real sub quotes, and a schedule we can actually hold. No lowball-then-change-order bids.

  4. Build

Preconstruction meeting, submittals, then disciplined field work with daily reports and weekly updates.

  5. Close out

Punch list, final inspection, as-builts, and warranties, so your file is complete and the project is too.

Who we serve

Agencies and owners we build for

Government work is our focus. Every public owner we serve does it a little differently, and we adjust to each one.

Federal civilian agencies

Office buildings, field stations, and service facilities for agencies that need dependable contractors on SAM.gov solicitations.

Defense & military installations

Base facilities where access control, badging, and schedule discipline matter as much as workmanship.

Land management & parks

Ranger stations, work centers, and visitor facilities, often remote and often on a tight seasonal window.

Veterans & healthcare facilities

Occupied buildings where infection control, noise, and keeping services running come first.

State & local government

State departments, counties, cities, and special districts across California, under state public works rules.

Schools & public education

K-12 and campus HVAC and renovation work, scheduled around the academic calendar.

See everyone we serve

“We would rather lose a bid by being honest about the schedule than win one we can't deliver.”

Why US Builders

What working with us actually looks like

We self-perform HVAC

Our mechanical scope isn't handed to the lowest sub. The licensed team that bids it is the team that installs it.

Paperwork is part of the job

Submittals, daily logs, payroll, and closeout documents are scheduled tasks, not afterthoughts.

You can reach a decision-maker

We're a focused company. When you call, you talk to someone who can make a call on your project.

California code, built in

Title 24 energy compliance, state prevailing wage, and local inspection norms are routine for us, not surprises.

Common questions

Before you call

Quick answers to the questions contracting officers, prime contractors, and facility managers ask us most. If yours isn't here, just pick up the phone.

Ask us directly
Are you registered to do business with the federal government?

Yes. US Civiltech, doing business as US Builders, is registered in SAM.gov. Our UEI and CAGE code are listed on our capability statement.

Do you work as a subcontractor to prime contractors?

Yes, and gladly. We bid as a prime on work that fits our size and licenses, and we team with primes who need a dependable HVAC or general building subcontractor. See Teaming & Subcontracting.

What size projects do you take on?

Everything from single-equipment replacements and small task orders to multi-trade renovations. If a project is beyond our bonding or crew capacity, we'll say so up front and, where it makes sense, propose a teaming arrangement instead.

Where do you work?

We're based in Sacramento and work throughout California. For remote sites, such as forest service stations, rural field offices, and mountain facilities, we plan logistics and lodging into the bid instead of discovering them later.

Do you still do commercial and residential work?

We do. Government contracting is our focus, but we serve businesses and homeowners in the Sacramento region too. Same licenses, same standards.

Have a solicitation on your desk?

Send us the RFQ, RFP, or scope of work. We'll review it and tell you honestly whether we're a good fit, usually within two business days.
